YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER: JINA
Where I learned my skills:
1988 - Inherited an old Praktica manual SLR
1988 to 1993 - Practically lived in my high school darkroom.
1994 to 2000 - Studied Architecture at Melbourne Uni (why not Photography? Long story. The upside is that I learnt a lot about design, colour theory, photoshop, and can help you design wall art to suit your home.)
2001 to 2011 - studied photography at NMIT, studied Art History at Melbourne Uni, became a fully registered Architect, became a tutor & lecturer at Melbourne Uni, started Studio Z Photography in 2004 & photographed weddings on weekends. (Workaholic much?)
2011 - found my true calling in children’s photography. Quit (almost) everything to pour my heart and soul into building Studio Z Photography into a viable business.
My proud moments:
2016 - My photograph was published on the cover of Gymbaroo's official magazine 'First Steps' issue 92. Then they continued to use my photographs for the covers of every issue, from issue 92 until issue 99 in 2018. (Unfortunately, First Steps Magazine is now no longer in print)
2016 - I received my Professional Photographer Accreditation from the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography).
2017 - I received two Silver Awards at the AIPP Victorian Epson Professional Photography Awards. One Silver and one Silver Distinction Award at the Australian Professional Photography Awards.
2018 - I received one Silver Distinction and one Gold Award at the AIPP Victorian Epson Professional Photography Awards. One Silver and one Silver Distinction Award at the Australian Professional Photography Awards. Two Silver Awards at The Portrait Conference. One Silver and one Silver Finalist Awards at the Rise Interational Photography Awards.
2018 - I've been selected as a Finalist in the National AusMumpreneur Awards, Whitehorse Leader published an article about my photography journey.
2019 - I was the runner up of the AIPP Victorian Family Photographer of the Year!

Local small businesses I love working with:
Gymbaroo Box Hill North
My son started babyroo class there when he was two months old, I was blown away by how amazing the Gymbaroo program is!
Gymbaroo Mitcham
Gymbaroo Glen Waverley
Gymbaroo Knox
Gymbaroo Darebin
Gymbaroo Mt Eliza
Gymbaroo Williamstown
These are other Gymbaroos I work with, some local some not-so-local. They're all super awesome!
Daam Dance
Mr Hai is absolutely amazing with kids! My son absolutely loves his class. He runs tap-dancing classes for mums too!
Tai Chi For Life
Master Tang doesn't brag, but he is the 'real deal'! He was a team-mate of Jet-Li's in the Chinese National Wushu (Kung-fu) Team, won a ridiculous number of medals, and is super well-respected in the international Wushu circle. My jaw dropped to the floor when I first watched one of his little students perform with a long sword! He runs adult classes as well as junior classes for children 6 years and above.
