I met Ebony when she invited me to photograph her gorgeous girls. I had no idea how talented she is until she contacted me to participate in my little Celebrate Mum's In Business project.
When I saw her work I was floored! They're so vibrant and full of life!
I wasn't surprised when she told me that she worked in the fashion industry since finishing uni. When she was pregnant with her first child she started her business Off The Peg.
"I always had this deep desire to create something that was uniquely mine, where I was the soul of the biz, where I could be free to create as I wanted without the restrictions of working to a brief. I created Off the Peg as an outlet for this dream."
At the start, she designed and hand-made a range of children's apparels to sell all over Melbourne, slowly her business changed as she discovered that it was visual art and specifically painting makes her heart sing. She is now on a journey to pursue her art and establish herself as an artist.
I love Ebony's work and am very excited to see where her journey leads. (And if you ever print your vibrant paintings onto fabric to make gorgeous little girls dresses, I want to be there to photograph them!)
